The farmer told the priest, "My fields lie fallow--flooded to the point that nothing's grown." The priest said, "It's the coming of the harvest, where we'll reap what we have sown. For the gamblers shout down the prophets, and we all must pay the price..Their words" (he said) "are worse than worthless..All they do is break the ice. But when the harvest comes they'll be running..the gamblers won't stick around--they'll be running like all of the rest of us, searching for higher ground."
The farmer said, "I have faith in the words of the prophets, but it seems to me there's only so much they can do...For the gamblers hold hefty bankrolls, and they wave them in the face of the chosen few...Riding to the brink on the back of the beasts of extinction, belching flame and smoke with every hour..they reject the sun and the wind and the words of the prophets, for the world where the dinosaur still holds the power..But when the harvest comes they'll be running..the gamblers won't hang around..they'll be trying to run over all the rest of us, to beat us to higher ground."
Sisters of the Sun, I hope that you can hear me..I remember how you once helped Jackson Browne...I always hoped you'd one day rock me on the water..I only hope it hasn't reached the highest ground. I think about the coming generations..I hope they'll plant their feet on something sound..They'll probably never see the current coastlines..I only hope they've got enough room to move around. And I wonder what they're gonna say about us?..It's not like we don't have the proper tools..Will they say we rolled our sleeves up and made progress, or call us "The Greatest Generation Of Fossil Fools.?!
